Announcements

The Announcements module enables organizations to share informative messages, alerts, or updates with users directly within the Synergy platform. It is designed to ensure that important announcements—such as policy changes, maintenance notifications, reminders, or internal news—reach the right audience efficiently. Announcements can be displayed as pop-ups at login, filtered by target roles (e.g., departments, positions, user groups), and optionally sent via email. Authorized users can create, edit, delete, and manage announcements, while ensuring visibility is time-bound or permanent as needed.

Getting Started

The components of the Announcements module are used across the Synergy platform to communicate system-wide updates, alerts, and internal messages to users. With this module, organizations can manage the visibility and delivery of announcements effectively based on user roles and time settings.

The Announcements module can be accessed via the Dashboard → All Announcements section or from the application menu, if configured.

NOTE: Only users with the appropriate permissions (Announcements > View, Add, Edit, Delete) can access and manage announcements. The system administrator must grant both menu and functional permissions to the relevant users.

How to Use the Announcements?

Before using the module efficiently, users should become familiar with the following functions:

  • Viewing Announcements:
    Users with the Announcements > View permission can access the announcement list. The list supports column-based filtering and personalized table settings.

  • Creating an Announcement:
    Users with the Announcements > Add permission can click the New button to create a new announcement. Required fields such as Subject, Message, and Status must be filled in. Role filters, date range, and delivery options can be optionally configured.

  • Editing an Announcement:
    Users with the Announcements > Edit permission can update existing announcements by clicking the pencil icon in the list.

  • Deleting an Announcement:
    Users with the Announcements > Delete permission can remove announcements. A confirmation dialog is displayed before the operation is completed.

  • Popup Display and Email Delivery:
    Announcements can be set to appear as a popup when users log in or sent as email notifications to increase visibility.

This module is especially useful for sharing internal communications such as policy updates, system maintenance announcements, or general information with targeted user groups.

Edit Existing Announcement

An announcement can be edited by clicking the Edit icon at the beginning of the corresponding row in the announcement list. See Edit Existing Announcement documentation for more details.

View Announcement Details

When any announcement row is double-clicked in the Announcement List screen, a pop-up displaying the announcement as seen by the end user will open. See View Announcement Details documentation for more details.

Delete Announcement

An announcement can be deleted by clicking the Delete icon in the corresponding row of the announcement list. See Delete Announcement documentation for more details.

Announcement List

The announcement list can be accessed by clicking the All Announcements button on the dashboard. All announcements in the system are listed on this screen. See Announcement List documentation for more details.

Create New Announcement

In the announcement list screen, clicking the New button at the top left opens the announcement creation panel. See Create New Announcement documentation for more details.
